KKP and Biak Numfor Regency Government Plan to Build an Integrated Fishing Port in 2022




The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) together with the Biak Numfor Regency Government, Papua, plan to build an integrated fishing port in Papua in the 2022 fiscal year.

This was revealed from the results of a meeting between Biak Regent Herry Ario Naap and KKP Minister Wahyu Sakti Trenggono at Mina Bahari IV Building KKP Office in Jakarta.

It was stated that this meeting followed up on the results of the visit of the Minister of KKP to Biak and the previous meeting between the Minister of KKP and Regent Herry Ario Naap.

In addition, as a follow-up to the recent visit of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and his entourage to Biak to see a number of supporting facilities for the fishery sector, including locations that are considered appropriate, they will be used as the construction of the integrated fishing port.

During the meeting, the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries was accompanied by the Director General of Aquaculture, TB Haeru Rahayu and the Director General of Capture Fisheries, M. Zaini.

From the Biak Numfor Regency Government, the Regent Herry Ario Naap was accompanied by the Regional Secretary Markus O Masnembra and other related echelon II officials.

The Regent of Biak Numfor Herry Ario Naap conveyed about the readiness and follow-up for the construction of a fishing dock or Integrated Fishing Port.

Meanwhile, Minister Trenggono responded positively and supported the local government's efforts to immediately realize what has been planned and report developments regularly and coordinate with the Director General of Capture Fisheries.

"The meeting discussed the follow-up to our previous visit, and is also a follow-up to the results of the recent work visit of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries to Biak, it is our hope that together in Biak Numfor the KKP's major programs can be realized," said Regent Herry Ario Naap after the meeting.

Meanwhile, the plan for the Integrated Fishing Port in Biak, he continued, immediately received serious support from the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and requested that its progress be reported and coordinated.

At the meeting with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, the Regent Herry Ario Naap was accompanied by the Regional Secretary Markus O Mansnembra, the Regent's Expert Staff Simon Rumaropen, the Special Staff of the Regent Lukas Rumere; Assistant III Zakarias Ricky Maloa, Head of Bappeda Wilson Titahena, Head of Fisheries Effendi Igrisa and Head of Tourism Turbery O.
