“OTSUS CONTRIBUTES BIGLY TO DEVELOPMENT IN PAPUA LAND”

The chairman of the Amban Community Partnership Forum in Manokwari Regency, Emus Wihawari, gave his support for the sustainability of Special Autonomy (Otsus) which has been going on for 20 years in Papua. He expressed this when met on Friday (30/7/21).

The implementation of Special Autonomy so far has contributed greatly to the development in Manokwari Regency, both government buildings and public facilities such as hospitals, ports, schools, and other supporting infrastructure. The community should be grateful for the presence of Otsus in Papua, so that no more people should take action against Otsus because it will only make the situation worse.

"With the ratification of the Special Autonomy Law Volume II, the improvement of the welfare and human resources of the Papuan people can continue to develop so that they are able to compete with other regional communities in Indonesia," said Emus.

He hopes that with the implementation of Otsus Volume II, it can improve the welfare and quality of the Papuan people's human resources. In addition, the sustainability of Otsus volume II itself is very important for the people of West Papua, especially OAP, because Papua and West Papua will be more advanced if the development of infrastructure and human resources can be continued through further Otsus programs.
