The Regent of Kaimana, Freddy Thie has issued a Circular on Micro-Scale PPKM in Kab. Kaimana as a follow-up to the increase in active positive cases of Covid-19. The affirmation of Kaimana's number one person was conveyed through a circular letter numbered: 338/374/2021 concerning the Implementation of Micro-Scale Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Kaimana Regency.
In addition to asking to postpone all activities that involve many people such as weddings, traditional events, conveying aspirations (demonstrations), vehicle convoys and others, including limiting the number of congregations/congregants in worship sessions, the Regent also asked the public not to travel out of town.
The PPKM policy has also occurred in several other regions in Indonesia, such as the one that has been implemented in Java-Bali, namely the Emergency PPKM which ends on July 20, 2021. Then the Emergency PPKM was extended to July 26, 2021 because there has been no decline in the trend of Covid-19 cases. Until July 26, if the number of positive cases and the number of deaths due to Covid-19 decreases, the government will gradually open/loose PPKM.
Edinson Werswira, as Head of the Port and Shipping Safety Section at the Kaimana Transportation Service, revealed that currently the number of active positive cases of Covid-19 in Kab. Kaimana continues to experience additions where this is greatly influenced by the presence of residents who do not implement health protocols.
