Police regarding Allegations of Local Government-Chairman of DPRD Funding KKB: Those involved will be summoned

The police confirmed that they would summon anyone involved in supplying weapons to the Papuan armed criminal group (KKB) terrorists. The police will also fly the suspected KKB weapons supplier, Ratius Murib alias Neson Murib, from Puncak Jaya to the Papua Regional Police, Jayapura, to develop this case.

"This case will be withdrawn to the Ditreskrim Polda Papua. And the suspect will be airlifted," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police Kombes Ahmad Mustofa Kamal via text message, Friday (18/6/2021).

"Anyone who is involved in the case will be called later," said Kamal when responding to the possibility of the police investigating the Puncak regional government and the chairman of the Tolikara DPRD Sonny Wanimbo, who were said to have financed the KKB.

Kamal said Neson Murib is still in the custody of the Puncak Jaya Police. It is planned that this week Neson will be transferred to the Papua Regional Police for further investigation.

"The suspect is still in Puncak Jaya, this week he will be picked up immediately," he said.

Kamal has not disclosed the names that will be called for clarification. Kamal said that he would only be able to determine after the Papua Police investigators studied the results of the BAP as well as Neson's statement.

"Papua Police investigators will study the results of the BAP and examine the suspect's statements, as well as from other evidence and clues," concluded Kamal.

It is known that the Nemangkawi Task Force confiscated a number of pieces of evidence from the alleged supplier of weapons to the Papuan KKB terrorist, Neson Murib. One of them is an agenda book containing notes on cash assistance from the Puncak local government of Rp 600 million for the KKB leader, Lekagak Telenggen, on February 6, 2021.

"Investigations are still being carried out regarding the evidence of transactions found, including whether or not the flow of funds to Lekagak Telenggen was carried out," said Head of the Nemangkawi Public Relations Task Force Kombes Iqbal Alqudussy when asked for confirmation by AFP regarding the record for assistance from the Puncak regional government for the KKB, Tuesday (15/6).

Neson was arrested by personnel of the Investigative Sub Task Force Unit II of the Nemangkawi Operation Law Enforcement Task Force in Puncak Jaya, Papua, on Monday (14/6). At that time he was carrying cash of Rp. 370 million in Rp. 100 thousand denominations.

In addition to cash worth hundreds of millions of rupiah and notes on cash assistance from the Puncak local government for the KKB, the Nemangkawi Task Force confiscated notebooks on the rejection of special autonomy and shootings in Puncak Regency and records of expenditures and receipts of aid funds from TPNPB sympathizers.

From Neson's arrest, the police also found information that the chairman of the Tolikara Regency DPRD, Sonny Arson Wanimbo, was involved in purchasing weapons for KKB. The truth of this information is still being investigated by the authorities.

"The money was given by a member of the Tolikara Regency Council I Chairman (Chairman of the Tolikara DPRD) on behalf of Sonny Wanimbo," said Kombes M Iqbal, Wednesday (16/6).

In response to this, the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the NasDem Party is still confirming the truth of the news. NasDem Deputy Chairperson Ahmad Ali stated that his party would take firm action against Sonny Arson Wanimbo if the allegations were true.

"That's just a statement from the suspect (Ratius Murib alias Neson Murib) so then the name appears. Whether or not we have to give the authorities the opportunity to validate this information," said Ahmad Ali, Wednesday.
