Send Logistics to Papua, Sea Toll Road Will Be Connected by Airplane

Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Novie Riyanto, will integrate Sea Toll freight shipments with Kemenhub aircraft. This is done to encourage logistical connectivity, especially in Papua.

In the future, the goods carried by the Sea Highway ships to Papua will be directly connected by plane to remote areas in Papua.

"For cargo connectivity, if you look throughout Indonesia, the condition of the cargo is watching the sea, we want an intermoda. For example in Papua, there will be sea highway connectivity that reaches Papua and connects to aircraft to be delivered into the interior of Papua," he said. Novie.

His party has prepared 109 airports that operate and are connected to each other in Papua. Novie also explained the importance of the aircraft fleet in Papua. According to him, many areas in Papua can only be reached by air.

"In Papua alone there are 109 airports operating and connected by large to small aircraft. There are several areas in Papua where air transportation is the main one, so this program is vital for Papua so that it can be connected to the sea highway," said Novie.

In the midst of the Corona pandemic, according to him, intermodal integration is very important, for example in vaccine distribution.

"During the Covid-19 period, when the vaccine is complete, the route used to distribute vaccines throughout Indonesia is very vital and we will plan that we should certainly cooperate with other modes of transportation," said Novie.
