The head coach of the Papua Handball sport, Andy Purwanto, admitted that his current athletes really need a series of trials. The reason is that during the training camp in Jayapura City, Papuan Handball has not yet conducted trials.
Therefore, Andy hopes, KONI Papua and Puslatprov KONI Papua can allow them to undergo a series of trials outside Papua to measure the readiness of Papuan Handball in welcoming the upcoming XX 2021 PON.
In fact, Andy admits that he has a map of the areas to be visited, such as the Jabodetabek, West Java and Central Java areas. Andy assessed that the area has several Handball clubs that can help them in trial matches.
"We hope as soon as possible TC can go outside and do a series of try outs. We still plan that December can go. But if it has to be January, then no problem, "said Andy
"Because we have also made a series of trials, which areas will we visit. But later on, we will continue with the training camp in Central Java, "he continued.
Not only in Java, Andy also said that the Papua Handball Provv has also scheduled a try out in South Korea in order to achieve the best achievements at the four-year national sports event.
Andy also said that in 2021, Papuan Handball would be more outside Papua to undergo a series of trials.
"Back to Papua, approximately two months before the implementation of PON, we were already in Timika to adapt to our own venue," he concluded.
