Papua Provincial Government Supports the Construction of a Mosque in Fakfak

The Governor of West Papua, Dominggus Mandacan, laid the groundwork for the construction of the Al-Afdan Mosque in Fakfak Regency, on Friday, August 28, 2020.

The governor said the mosque is a place of worship for Muslims in fostering the mental and spiritual guidance of the people. It is inseparable from the government in the capacity as protector, supervisor and policy maker in the growth and development of spiritual life as referred to in the 1945 Constitution.

For this reason, the government is always present in the community in guidance and development in the religious field.

"The government always has a very important position and role as an integral part of the effort to lay a solid moral and spiritual foundation for the successful implementation of national and regional development," he explained.

He hopes that the laying of stones for the construction of the Al-Afdan mosque can be useful for all Muslims in Fakfak Regency. "We hope this mosque can be used as a good means of worship," he explained.
