The Provincial Government of West Papua accelerates the operation of the Provincial Referral Hospital |
West Papua Governor Dominggus Mandacan in Manokwari said the construction of the hospital in Manokwari would be accelerated, including the procurement of equipment and health workers, to support the handling of new types of corona virus patients (COVID-19).
"We will prepare the institutional structure. Right now we are also preparing some administrative requirements that are needed," he said.
Governor Dominggus Mandacan held a meeting with the Manokwari Regency Government and the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning / National Land Agency (BPN) in Manokwari.
He said the meeting was to accelerate the issuance of land certificates and operational permits for the hospital from the One-Stop Integrated Investment and Licensing Office (PTSP).
"Praise the Lord, the next two days the certificate can be issued, as well as the operational permit from PTSP Manokwari Regency, including the IMB. Then we will submit it to the Ministry of Health," he said.
He hopes that the central government will give serious attention to the operation of the hospital. After the Ministry of Health's permit was issued, he said, the inauguration of the hospital management structure would be carried out immediately.
Dominggus said that if the provincial hospital was operating, COVID-19 patients from a number of areas outside Manokwari could be accommodated in the hospital.
"Like Arfak Mountain District, South Manokwari, Tambrauw does not have a hospital yet so that inevitably if there are COVID-19 patients or because of other diseases they are referred to Manokwari," he said.
He hoped that in the future all COVID-19 patients could be occupied by the hospital so that other hospitals, both owned by the regional government and the TNI, Polri, and the private sector could be focused on the treatment of patients with other diseases.
