The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has yet to allow the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe (LE) to seek treatment abroad. The KPK is still waiting for a recommendation from the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) regarding whether or not Lukas Enembe needs to seek treatment abroad.
This was conveyed by Deputy Chairman of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron in response to Lukas Enembe's request for permission to seek treatment abroad. The request was made by Lukas Enembe's attorney, Stefanus Roy Rening, because it was claimed that his client's health condition was getting worse.
"Now we are coordinating with IDI to then determine whether the person concerned needs to be treated until he leaves the country or is it enough at home," said Nurul Ghufron when confirmed, Sunday (4/12/2022).
"If it can still be handled domestically, then the Corruption Eradication Committee needs to facilitate the handling of his health domestically. If he is considered healthy, then we will continue the legal process," he added.
Furthermore, Ghufron ensured that the investigation into the Lukas Enembe case is still ongoing through the examination of witnesses. However, the KPK has yet to carry out the process of further examination and detention of Lukas on the grounds of his health condition.
"As long as he is sick, then the KPK has the responsibility to ensure that the illness is an illness that is indeed no longer possible to be examined or not," he explained.
Previously, it was known that Lukas Enembe's attorney, Stefanus Roy Rening, admitted that he had written to the chairman of the Corruption Eradication Committee regarding a request for permission to allow his client to seek treatment abroad. Roy Rening claims his client's health condition has worsened in the last week.
"His condition has deteriorated rapidly since the last week. The patient's kidney function is at a critical limit," said Stefanus Roy Rening via text message, Monday, November 28, 2022.
The KPK itself has named the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, a suspect. Based on the information gathered, Lukas is suspected of being entangled in a number of alleged corruption cases.
Among other things, related to the acceptance of bribes and project gratuities in the Papua region. Lukas was named a suspect along with a number of other parties. Unfortunately, the KPK has not disclosed in detail who the suspects are and the construction of the case that ensnared Lukas Enembe.
The KPK has examined Lukas in Jayapura, Papua, some time ago. The examination was carried out in Jayapura because of Lukas' health condition. However, there is no schedule for a follow-up summons from the KPK against Lukas after the examination.
At present, it is known that Lukas has been prevented from traveling abroad by the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) at the request of the KPK. He will be prevented from traveling abroad for the next six months from 7 September 2022 to 7 March 2023.
Not only that, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) has also blocked the accounts of Lukas Enembe and related parties. The blocking was carried out because PPATK found that there were financial transactions that were odd or suspicious.
The latest information, there are PPATK findings related to Luke's financial transactions that flow to gambling houses, aka casinos abroad. PPATK said the number was nearly half a trillion. The KPK is currently studying PPATK's findings.
