The Mimika government held a subsidized bazaar from district to district

The government of Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province, is holding a low-cost market for subsidized goods from district to district in the area.

Head of the Mimika Regency Industry and Trade Service (Kadisnakering) Petrus Pali Amba when met in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, Thursday, said that the activity was a form of effort to reduce inflation.

"We are going through this revised regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD), we have a bazaar program. We are distributing this bazaar to several districts which are currently running," said Petrus Pali Amba.

Initially, the agency only planned a low-cost market at point locations or four districts, but did not rule out the possibility that there would be additional activity locus districts.

"But after the friends come down, it is possible that there will be additional funds later by looking at the availability of funds that the regional government has provided us for procuring the low-cost market program," said Petrus.

Some of the commodities sold, for example, are eggs, sugar, rice. To support this activity, the agency directly shopped at distributors, including working with the State Logistics Agency there.

"I don't remember how many or how many tons of goods we procured because it was friends from the field who handled it so they knew more about trade," he said.

Petrus also ensured that supervision of subsidized fuel oil (BBM) at all public refueling stations (SPBU) was carried out so that there would be no fuel hoarding mafia.

"Including monitoring of goods that go through the sea highway. So every shipment of goods from Surabaya the data is always updated to us to see about the goods ordered through the sea highway," he said.
