The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned the lawyer for the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, Aloysius Renwarin, last Thursday (17/11/2022). However, he was absent from the investigation regarding the alleged bribery and gratuity case for project work originating from the Papua Province APBD.
"The information we received was not present," said the Head of the KPK Reporting Section, Ali Fikri when confirmed in Jakarta, Friday (18/11/2022).
Apart from Aloysius, a driver named Darwis who was also supposed to be questioned, did not comply with the investigator's summons yesterday. The KPK will also recall both of them. "Scheduling the summons again immediately sent the investigation team," said Ali.
The KPK has named Lukas Enembe as a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratuity case related to work or projects originating from the Papua Province APBD. However, until now the anti-corruption agency has not explained in detail the case that ensnared Lukas.
Previously, the Chairperson of the KPK, Firli Bahuri, ensured that there was no special treatment in the handling of the alleged corruption case against Governor Lukas. He emphasized that the arrival of the investigation team to Lukas' residence in Jayapura City, Papua on November 3, 2022, was an effort to carry out their duties and functions as an anti-corruption agency.
"I don't think there is anything special, everything is in the framework of law enforcement," said Firli in South Jakarta, last Thursday (10/11/2022).
Firli explained that the arrival of investigators to Lukas' house was based on the main duties of the KPK. He stated that this was in accordance with existing regulations.
"Everything we do is in accordance with the principles of carrying out the main duties of the KPK, what is called the public interest, what is called legal certainty, is it in the context of upholding justice, proportionality, and also upholding human rights," explained Firli (Reportedly from Republika, 18/11/2022) Red.
