The Indonesian National Construction Entrepreneurs Association (Gapensi) stated that there are around 4,000 construction entrepreneurs spread across districts and cities throughout Papua Province, ready to adapt to new regulations issued by the government and compete digitally.
Chairman of the Gapensi Papua Province, Rudi Waromi in Wamena, Papua, Tuesday, said that from the results of coordinating with businessmen in regencies in Papua, they said they were ready to adapt to the digital era.
"People ask me, we are ready, I said we are ready. There are 4,000 of our entrepreneurs throughout Papua. Almost 96 percent of small entrepreneurs, of which three percent are Papuans. They in Tolikara, Yahukimo, Jayawijaya say they can, they have digital certificates," he said.
With the current digitalization changes, he said, entrepreneurs no longer carry bags containing paper or letters to be submitted to the government.
"All of our documents are regulated by digitization. In the future, all of our members will not come to the government with files in their bags anymore. Those whose names are construction service entrepreneurs don't carry files in their bags anymore. All files are verified on the local government portal, either at ULP, working groups," he said.
He said digital challenges are not easy for areas with limited internet services. However, Gapensi continues to provide assistance to members so that they are able to adapt.
"In the future, our challenges as entrepreneurs will not be easy, but not difficult either," he said.
Previously, the Head of Gapensi Jayawijaya Regency, Fred Huby, hoped for government support for Jayawijaya entrepreneurs in terms of providing adequate internet services.
Fred said, to download files, they had to do it in Jayapura City because the internet service was very good there.
