Separatist groups in Papua have again carried out acts of terror that have disturbed the public.
This time, the Papuan KKB carried out arson actions against a number of buildings in Puncak Regency.
The terrorist act was carried out by the Papuan KKB led by three war generals.
The Head of Public Relations Ops Damai Cartenz, Kombes Pol Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said a number of buildings belonging to PT Martha Tunggal Teknik (MTT) in Gome District, Puncak Regency, Papua, were burned by KKB Papua on Friday (22/4) at around 17.50 WUT.
"They (KKB) who are suspected of being the leaders of Luki Murib set fire to the building belonging to PT. MTT," said Kamal, Friday (22/4) night, as reported by VOA Indonesia.
According to Kamal, after receiving a report of an arson being carried out by KKB. The joint TNI-Polri team in the Ilaga area immediately went to the scene.
"From the results of the monitoring, it is known that the perpetrators have fled towards Snake Hill," he said.
However, there were no casualties in the incident. Currently joint officers are still patrolling and guarding a number of crime-prone areas.
"After the incident the situation was safe. Joint personnel remain on standby to anticipate the actions of the KKB," concluded Kamal.
Meanwhile, Spokesperson for TPNPB-OPM, Sebby Sambom, confirmed the arson was carried out by his group.
"Yes, that's right, the burning was under the leadership of Gen Goliath Tabuni, Lekagak Telenggen, and Peni Murib.
We are responsible for all actions carried out throughout Papua," he told VOA.
In addition to carrying out the arson, TPNPB-OPM also claimed to have launched an attack on TNI-Polri officers in the Kenyam area, Nduga Regency, Papua.
"We ask that the area from the Batu Boundary Port to enter Kenyam City should not have community activities.
Local people and non-Papuans are not allowed to pass through the area because we already control the area," concluded Sebby.
Papuan KKB Attacks Cartenz Peace Task Force
Previously, the Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) attacked members of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force (Satgas) in Nogolaid Village, Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Papua, Thursday (21/4/2022).
KKB Papua attacked at close range, about 20 to 30 meters.
Director of General Criminal Investigation (Direskrimum) of the Papua Regional Police (Polda), Kombes Faizal Ramadhani revealed, prior to the attack, three members of the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force were conducting mapping to find out the existence of KKB around Kenyam.
"At around 12:53 WIT, personnel passed KKB, which is strongly suspected to be Egianus Kogoya's group and then members were shot at," said Kombes Faizal Ramadhani in Jayapura, Friday (22/4/2022).
"This shows that they panicked because they even had minimal personnel shooting that much," he said.
The Papuan KKB led by Egianus Kogoya previously attacked the Marine III Mupe Task Force Post in Nduga, allegedly from the Ndugama KKB.
In the attack, two Indonesian Navy soldiers were killed, namely Marine Lt. M Ikbal & Private Mar. Wilson Anderson.
Marine Lt. M Ikbal is the Platoon Commander (Danton) of the Indonesian Navy forces who were attacked by the Papuan KKB led by Egianus Kogoya.
