Papua Regional Secretary Dance Yulian Flassy, SE, MSi urges residents not to be provoked by a video of violence against a resident by two POM members at Johannes Abraham Dimara Air Base Merauke, Papua.
"This case has been handled directly by the Indonesian Air Force, in fact the two members are already in detention, to be further processed by law according to the rules that apply to the Indonesian Air Force," said Flassy in Jayapura, Wednesday (28/7/2021).
He also hoped that the incident would not be exaggerated and the news should be packaged properly, so that it would not be misunderstood by the wider community.
"TNI officials have apologized to the families of the victims," he explained.
The Commander of the Johannes Abraham Dimara Air Base in Merauke, Papua, Colonel Herdy Arief Budiyanto separately expressed his regret and deepest apologies for the incident.
He emphasized that his party hopes that this incident will become an internal evaluation in carrying out security duties in the Merauke area.
"This will be our evaluation material. We hope that there are no other perceptions, because this incident has been resolved amicably. If the victim suffers injuries and other losses, we are fully responsible," he concluded.
It is known that two POM members at the Johannes Abraham Dimara Merauke Air Base, each Serda Dimas Harjanto and Prada Vian Febrianto committed acts of violence against a resident named Steven Yadohamang on Jalan Mandala, Merauke, Monday (26/7/2021)
