Indonesian Air Force Apologizes, Two Members Undergo Legal Process




The Indonesian Air Force is dealing with two members of the J.A Dimara Merauke Air Force Base Pomau, who are suspected of committing an act of mistreatment of a man at a food stall on Jalan Raya Mandala, Merauke Regency, Papua, Monday (27/7/2021).

"The two members of the J.A Dimara Merauke Air Force Base Pomau have now been detained and are under the supervision of the Commander. The investigation process is being carried out by the two members," said Kadispenau/Marsma TNI Indan Gilang B, through a press release on Wednesday (28/7/2021).

Gilang said that his party expressed regret and apologies, hopefully this incident will be a lesson for all parties.

“The Indonesian Air Force will take firm action against its members who are undisciplined and violate the rules. The Indonesian Air Force does not hesitate to punish according to the level of error," he said.

According to him, the incident, which began with a commotion from a resident who was suspected of being drunk with a food stall owner, and involved two members of Pomau, who intended to intervene, is now being handled by officers from J.A Dimara Merauke Air Base.
