Not wanting the athletes to be neglected during the Papua National Sports Week (PON), East Java KONI conducted a survey venue in Papua. In a survey in a number of places such as Timika, Merauke and Jayapura, the East Java group saw that the host's readiness was quite good.
The head of the East Java KONI, M. Nabil, said that he is currently looking for the best transit places for athletes so that when competing, athletes do not travel long distances.
"Regarding the transit of athletes, for example between venues and remote lodgings, so we are worried that there will be delays or delayed hours. We anticipate providing accommodation in the form of houses in certain sports that can bring a nice atmosphere," said Nabil.
In addition to athletes, Nabil said that athlete accommodation points are also needed for the PON task force so that later they can maintain and guard the athlete's condition.
In addition, KONI Jatim has also started to build communication between the people of East Java in Papua such as the Jember Family Association in each city to support athletes from East Java.
"Transit athletes and the PON task force must exist so that we can maintain, oversee and build communication between the East Java community in Papua such as the Jember family union in each city. We build communication and emotional relationships so that athletes are not alone," he concluded.
