The division of the New Autonomous Region of Papua must make the people happy

Deputy Governor of Papua Klemen Tinal has allowed the expansion of the New Autonomous Region (DOB) if the expansion does not interfere with Indigenous Papuans (OAP). The expansion must also have a positive impact on Papuans.

"Personally I invite the Central Government to split Papua into several new provinces such as South Papua Province and Central Papua Province, but it must be remembered that the plan must make Papuans happy and happy," said Klemen in Jayapura, Papua, Friday, November 8, 2019. .

Klemen explained that from the start the community had misunderstood the matter of regional expansion and according to him, how many provinces want to be formed would not be a problem. Although in the future, the new province will be short of population.

"If you want Papua to be divided into 10 provinces, go ahead," Klemen explained.

Meanwhile, a Papuan community leader, Ramses Wally said that if the division is to be carried out, regional leaders must be occupied by indigenous Papuans.

"The division must go on. Later the leader must be occupied by indigenous Papuans, so that the Papuan people can truly prosper and fight for their aspirations," said Ramses.
