PGGP Calls for Peaceful Pilkada Papua

The Papua Barat Province (PGGP) Church-Church Fellowship is calling for a Peaceful Pilkada in the province of West Papua.

As leaders of the Church's dedication in West Papua, they call on all communities in 9 districts to support healthy and peaceful regional elections in accordance with the laws and regulations.

"We reject actions, injustice and violating laws that have the potential to trigger conflict and harm minor parties," said the Chairman of the West Papua PGGP.

In addition, in the call for peace, Church Leaders were asked to maintain neutrality in the implementation of Pemilukada in 9 districts throughout West Papua Province.

"For all church-dominated people to remain solid, unified, not involved in practical politics but neutral to pray for all candidates, so that the elections can run safely, peacefully and leave it to God who determines their chosen people to lead in West Papua," he said

On the other hand, Election organizers, Regency / Municipal KPU and West Papua Provincial KPU, and Bawaslu are also asked to carry out Pilkada honestly and fairly.

The West Papua PGGP also asks the community to maintain a sense of brotherhood, harmony between religious communities as well as mutual respect, respect among humans and not to use the issue of SARA in the elections because the elections are only temporary, but brotherhood between humans is eternal.
