Papua Brings 50,000 Covid-19 Rapid Test Equipment

The Papua Provincial Health Service brought 25,000 Covid-19 corona rapid test kits from the Ministry of Health to deal with the community related to the virus pandemic.

Papua Health Agency Head Roby Kayame explained that in order to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic in the land of Papua, his party has brought in a rapid test kit.

"We have brought 25,000 epat rapid test equipment) and in the near future we will also bring 25,000 from the Ministry of Health so that the target of 50,000 according to the command of the Governor of Papua Luke Enembe can be fulfilled," he said on Saturday (05/02/2020).

Now, his side is pushing Jayapura Regency and Jayapura City to train officers to carry out public health checks through rapid test kits.

"We are encouraging several districts in the interior of Papua because the level of risk is high enough there so that the provincial health team is shifting to their mountainous and coastal districts there ready to face Covid-19," he said.

He said he was trying to quickly break the chain of transmission of Covid-19 in the area. "In Timika there are many people without symptoms that we treat and treatment is also early so they don't have to go through a ventilator," he said.

Until now, he added, it was reported that 80 percent of people with Covid-19 in Timika were generally in good condition.
