Deputy Chairman of the State Financial Accountability Agency (BAKN) of the DPR RI Hendrawan Supratikno encouraged Raja Ampat Regency, West Papua Province, to become a leading tourist destination.
After seeing the natural beauty in Raja Ampat, there is no doubt, this place has the potential to become a very special tourist destination. Some even call Raja Ampat a paradise in eastern Indonesia.
According to a report from The Nature Conservancy and Conservation International, there are approximately 75 percent of the world's coral species in these islands. In addition, Raja Ampat also has 1,318 species of fish, 699 mollusks, and 547 coral reefs.
"Seeing a reality like this, there is an urgent need so that this can become a leading tourist destination that is affordable and easily accessible," said Hendrawan after leading the working visit of the Indonesian House of Representatives (BAKN) to Raja Ampat, West Papua, Monday (21/3).
According to him, to make it easier for tourists to visit and provide comfort, there should be infrastructure improvements in Raja Ampat.
Such as adequate transportation access, airport runways and representative ports for both domestic and international tourists.
"For (supporting) visitors, the direction is a more complete and more adequate infrastructure. It is better to have a runway for small airplanes because this is important to make it easier for tourists to come to this place, repair the pier, roads, then hotel facilities small, in order to fulfill the tourism infrastructure in Raja Ampat," explained Hendrawan.
Meanwhile, on the same occasion, Deputy Regent of Raja Ampat Orideko Iriano Burdam hoped for assistance from the central government so that Raja Ampat would receive special allocation funds for tourism development. Because there are still many supporting infrastructure for tourism in Raja Ampat that are not adequate.
"On behalf of the Deputy Regent of Raja Ampat and the people of Raja Ampat, I would like to thank you for the visit of BAKN DPR RI. We hope that what they have visited is what they have seen, when they return to Jakarta they can fight for what the Raja Ampat Regency needs. Raja Ampat "This is a tourist area, so that Raja Ampat tourism can be improved again, please help us as souvenirs after returning from Raja Ampat to Jakarta," hoped Orideko.
Responding to this, Hendrawan revealed that special allocation funds are very possible for infrastructure development in Raja Ampat.
"In the short term, the most feasible is the special allocation fund (DAK). This special allocation fund takes into account the condition of the region. Where this district has more seas. That's why there is a clear alignment from the central government to encourage economic growth in tourism centers in Indonesia. regions," said the PDI-P politician.
