Ahead of preparations for the 112nd Anniversary of Jayapura City, the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Jayapura City, Dr. Frans Pekey, appealed to the public to be smart in coexistence.
On Sunday (6/3/2022), Frans said that Jayapura City is a pluralistic city, because it consists of various tribes, races, and religions, which live in the capital city of Papua Province.
"For this reason, we hope that the people who live in this city (Jayapura) must become intelligent and mature people in living their lives together," he explained.
According to him, if this is really implemented fully, the city, dubbed "Hong Kong at night", will be more secure, peaceful, and developed.
"So, as we all hope, this city will become a modern and competitive city in the midst of global competition which is currently growing rapidly," he concluded.
Frans said that the city of Jayapura from time to time has become a home for the people of the archipelago, who are looking for a living and even have children.
"For that I want to say, the City of Jayapura belongs to all. So it must be guarded by all, the City of Jayapura is not only the business of the Mayor, Benhur Tomi Mano, but this belongs to all of us," he said.
He also conveyed, by having an attitude to live tolerantly, respecting one another, then living in the Tabi Land, will be beautiful because one another loves one another.
"Towards the independence and welfare of the citizens of the city, that must be a common goal," he pleaded.
For your information, on March 7, 2022, residents of Jayapura City will commemorate the 112th Anniversary, and on March 10, 2022 it will be commemorated as the Day of the Gospel in Tabi Land.
