Mimika Regency is Ready to Host XX Papua PON

The preparation of the 12 venues for the XX National Sports Week (PON) in Mimika Regency, Papua has reached 90 percent. It is predicted that all the sports venues will be completed by the end of August 2021 by the relevant local government.

"At the end of this month it has been completed to reach 100 percent," said Mimika Regency Regional Secretary (Sekda) Michael Rooney Gommar in the Media Discussion Forum Merdeka Barat 9 (FMB9) entitled "Support your contingent at PON XX Papua" on Tuesday (3/8/ 2021).

According to him, the majority of the construction of the venue, which will serve as a venue for national-level sports competitions, has been completed. Only the final stages are left, so that in the near future, of course, it can be finished soon.

As happened at the athletics sports venues, which only left the rehabilitation stage at a number of venue points. At this stage of course it will not take long to complete this.

"Meanwhile, rehabilitation or construction of a warming-up area, namely for athletics, is being carried out," he said.

Not only the venue for the XX Papua PON matches, the Mimika Regency Government has completed the facilities and infrastructure (sarpras) to support this sporting event, such as lodging, athletes' homestay, and even consumption. Everything is carefully prepared, in order to participate in the success of the sporting event.

Lodging and guest houses for participants and spectators of this event have been carefully calculated. So, the sarpras provided can accommodate parties and spectators from the 12 sports held there.

"There are 16 lodgings that have been calculated by the organizing committee of XX Papua PON according to the participation of participants and spectators," he added.

Then, his party is also preparing the consumption that will be given to the participants. This is very necessary because it is a very important factor in supporting the smooth running of the national level sporting event. So, the participants get the right intake.

"Consumption certainty can be immediately conveyed in the division of tasks and responsibilities of all participants who attend can be fulfilled," he concluded.
