Even though it is still during the Covid-19 pandemic, preparations for the 2021 National Sports Week must be carried out immediately. So that athletes have mature readiness so that they can excel at the four-year exhibition.
For this reason, the plan is that starting on November 15, 27 sports in Riau will hold training camps or TC walking. This was expressed by the General Secretary of the Riau Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), Deni Ermanto, Friday, November 13, 2020.
"It is planned that on November 15, 2020, 27 sports will start holding the TC running. So that the preparation period ahead of the XX Papua 2021 PON will be longer," said Deni Ermanto.
According to Deni, the implementation of the running TC was an initiative of each sports prov. Moreover, training camps or full TC TCs have not been officially held by KONI Riau due to the pandemic.
Regarding the technicality of the TC implementation, last week 27 sports provincial governments held technical meetings. So that TC runs can be implemented by paying attention to health protocols.
"KONI Riau provides support in implementing the running TC which is held every sport. Of course it also ensures the implementation of health protocols," he added.
