The Papua Aquatic venue, which will later compete in the XX National Sports Week (PON) in Papua in 2021, received appreciation from the Papua Provincial Government.
This is because Aquatic Papua is one of the best swimming venues in the world with a magnificent construction and modern facilities. Aquatic Papua has also recently received a certificate from the world swimming federation (FINA).
Acting Head of the Papua Province Sports and Youth Office (Disorda), Alexander Kapisa, said he was proud of the establishment of a magnificent Aquatic venue in Papua.
The venue, which was built using APBN funds at a cost of around Rp. 401 billion, has three swimming pools which include a sparring pool with an area of 25 meters x 51.23 meters with a depth of 3 meters. Heating pool with an area of 20 meters x 50 meters with a depth of 1-2 meters. And a diving pool covering an area of 20 meters x 25 meters with a depth of 5 meters.
The Aquatic venue also has a capacity of 1,569 spectators and the room is equipped with FOP lighting with a capacity of 1,200 lux and 1,500 lux. Meanwhile, the water supply utilizes purified groundwater.
